Fortnight magazine is back! A staple of the local political scene since 1970, Fortnight went on hiatus in 2012. But it’s back with a 50th anniversary issue, ready to do battle with 2020.
I have a piece in there, ‘Divided Politics, Blended Lives.’ It’s about social mixing and friendships in everyday life in Northern Ireland. And how these are at a much more advanced stage than our politics suggests. Half of the piece reflects on how the pandemic has affected social and political dynamics in the north.
Analogue copies are available in No Alibis bookstore in Botanic, Belfast.
